Class of 2023 Plants Two Cherry Blossom Trees

Two new cherry blossom trees grace the entrance of Amherst Middle School thanks to the eighth-grade class officers, Plant WNY and Russell’s Tree and Shrub Farm. Inspired by their trip to Washington, D.C. where they saw the cherry trees in full bloom, the class officers chose cherry blossom trees as the gift to the school.

Class of 2023 fundraising proceeds were used to purchase two plaques which will be displayed near the trees as a gift from the class of 2023. Kayleigh Buziak, class advisor, and Krista Jones, student council advisor, worked with Russell’s to coordinate the planting. Plant WNY donated the trees and Chris Zeisz and Mark McClean from Russell’s helped plant the trees.
